Amazon is a great platform for authors to sell their books and reach new customers. However, with millions of Kindle books for sale, you may have to put in some effort to get the sales rolling. Setting up an Amazon book giveaway is a great place to start. Amazon book giveaways can help readers find your novel (both print or Kindle) and will help you gain more Amazon followers.
Setting Up the Giveaway

- Start by going to your book’s page on Amazon. Scroll down to the boom and click “set up Amazon Giveaway.”
There will be a number of setting options when creating the giveaway, starting with the number of prizes. We recommend giving away as many as you are comfortable with between 5 and 100. You will pay for each book you plan to giveaway, but they will count toward your royalty and your sales rank.
During the set up process, select the “choose lucky number instant win” giveaway type.
Under “rule for winning” you should choose that every 50th or 100th entrant wins a book. The requirement to enter should be to follow the author on Amazon. The giveaway should expire after a week or more, and the contest should be made public.
Why Amazon Followers Matter
Although you will never know how many Amazon Followers you have (Amazon keeps that information private), there is a huge benefit to having a large following. Amazon sends automated emails to all of your followers each time you release a new book. This has been proven to drive up sales.
Promoting Your Giveaway
Once you have created an Amazon Book Giveaway, you can promote your contest via Just Kindle Books. To set up the promotion you will have to provide the author’s first and last name, an email, and the Amazon Giveaway URL. Other necessary information includes: a one sentence book description, the book genre, the number of copies you’re giving away, and the chance of winning. Once you have filled out all this necessary information, Just Kindle Books will promote your giveaway for as little as $5.
