What Do the Kindle and Fire Tablet Warranties Cover?
The wording for each warranty is the same. On each warranty information page, Amazon states that “When you purchase a new or Certified Refurbished Device, we warrant the Device against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use.”
If a malfunction occurs, the customer can return the device to Amazon where one of three things will happen:
- The device will be repaired using new or refurbished parts.
- The device will be replaced with another device of equal value.
- The customer will be refunded for the broken device.
The only difference among the three warranty types is the length of time the device is covered. For example, the Two-Year Limited Warranty (also called the Worry-Free Guarantee), covers the eligible device for a period of two years. After the warranty period is up, you can’t be certain that your eReader or Kindle will be repaired or replaced for free.
