If you’ve ever written a helpful book review or product review on Amazon, you’ve probably made a bigger impact than you may realize. Online reviews play a big role in helping other readers and buyers decide what to purchase. For authors in particular, book reviews are critical social proof which helps drive sales, especially when authors lower their book price during a book promotion.
Where can I see my Amazon reviews?
To see all of the reviews you’ve written over the years, simply log in to your Amazon account and go to your profile. Here are the steps to follow:
- Log in to your Amazon account
- Click the tab that reads “Accounts & Lists” at the top-right corner of your screen
- Beneath “Ordering and shipping preferences, click “Your Amazon profile.”
- Scroll down until you see the “Community Activity” section.
- Click the “down” arrow next to “View: All Activity.”
- Select “Reviews.”
Why doesn’t my Amazon review appear immediately?
When you write a review on Amazon, it isn’t published automatically or immediately. Instead, it’s looked over internally to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria and that your review follows the Community Guidelines.
Why did Amazon reject my review?
As a reviewer, you must meet two eligibility requirements: 1) you must have spent at least $50 on Amazon in the past 12 months and 2) you must have a valid credit or debit card on your account. These requirements are also necessary if you want to follow other Amazon Community profiles.
How can I edit my Amazon review?
You can read and edit any of your reviews by heading to the “Community Activity” section of your profile. Simply click the three dots next to whichever review you’d like to change, and then select whether you’d like to edit, delete, or hide that review from your profile.
Why did Amazon take down my review?
As previously mentioned, Amazon has strict Community Guidelines to prevent people from posting fake or misleading reviews. If Amazon takes down one of your reviews, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- Your review seemed overly promotional.
- Your review contained links to other pages or products not sold on Amazon.
- Your reviewing history seems suspicious or unusual.
- You’re found to have a close personal relationship with someone who owns or works with that brand.
- You posted a review as the product’s manufacturer while posing as a regular customer.
- You posted several reviews for the same product.
- You’re found to be writing reviews in exchange for compensation.
As long as you remain respectful, honest, and informative, you should be able to freely post reviews whenever you’d like… and both authors and readers will appreciate your contributions!
