This is a book patterned after those which promote vocabulary building, but instead of words, its focus is on two-hundred people who, in the last hundred years, have made significant contributions in the arts, sciences, and critical thought.
The emphasis is on individuals who may not be generally well-known. The book is divided into twenty units, each comprised of a ten-question multiple-choice quiz and short answers.
A twenty-five question quiz with answers follows each five units and the answers usually provide additional contextual and biographical information, including quotes. The main body of the book concludes with four, twenty-question quizzes and answers. The intent of the book is not to intimidate, but to educate, to increase one’s “biographical vocabulary.”
