This is a personal story. It follows along from childhood to parenthood, school girl to career woman, with many hellos and goodbyes along the way. In it the reader will be hit with the cold, cold water of the insidious racism faced by many. Asked to consider the examples of suspicious eyes while shopping, being passed over for promotion or being limited to living in only certain parts of town all with the backdrop of notable events that inspired the political movement and the many events of the nation and world over the past several decades. Still there is a thread of community, family and love tying together the fabric of life from 1950 – the present. It is a clear-eyed view of country, community, and family and though much has been lost, much remains. $0.99 on Kindle.
