I thought today would be all about the promotions board. I’ve been with Homicide Squad just over a year, and today was my first chance to make the jump to Detective Second Class.
That’s not how it played out.
Detective Thief—he’s my partner—got the call to check out this gruesome scene. He dragged me away from the board to check it out. There’s blood everywhere, and we think we know who did it, only…why? What would make them do it?
I’m not sure I want to know. Sometimes motives for murder start to seem a little bit too reasonable…
